FAQ

What is career coaching?
Similar to executive or life coaching, career coaching is a powerful and effective relationship, with coach and client working together to meet the career goals of the client. The vision of Career Lift, LLC is to help clients find their natural talent and to hone their careers around that passion.

Why should I consider working with a career coach?
Some professionals may not wish to admit that they need outside assistance from a career specialist, seeing that as a sign of weakness or even defeat. In reality, using a career or life coach could be the strongest decision you make. Coaches offer new directions, perspectives and ideas, as well as help you to expand your thinking and encourage brainstorming. If you have been trying for awhile on your own to develop a career path, find a new job or to be recognized for your value in your current position, having a coach’s support and guidance may be just the thing you need to achieve success.

Do I need to live near my coach?
Not at all. Although I do offer in-person coaching, most of my career coaching is done remotely – either face-to-face through Skype or by talking on the phone.

Can I “try before I buy?”
Absolutely, in fact, I insist on it! The first session is a meet-and-greet event, to clarify your goals and expectations while introducing coaching concepts. This will let coach and client get to know each other a bit to figure out how well we click and how we might best work together. This is not a one-size-fits-all process and it is vital to tailor the process to best fit your goals, your budget and your timeframe.

How do you work with clients?
The first step in coaching is to use specific measures to start the process to discover your best strengths – those things that, when you do them, you just know that’s your life purpose! From there, the coaching is customized to fit the individual (or team). With most clients, I work one-on-one in 45 minute sessions, with reading and self-introspection exercises between to develop natural strengths, plus clarify and reach those challenging goals.

How long does it take?
This depends on many factors, including your goals and how much
time they you put in to achieve them. Some have one specific aim
for coaching and once that is achieved, they’re good. For others,
we keep going as long as that positive experience continues
and they are satisfied with their growth and achievement.
Most important as you consider working with me, is that
you know that even after our defined coaching work,
I will still be here for you. You can call me with specific
questions or challenges that arise.
